“Sweet” is our most outstanding broodmare producing point earners Travlyn Sweet N Dirty, Travlyn Mister Sweet,  Hesa Travlyn Bonanza (see Hesa Dirty Rocki page), Call Me Travlyn, and Shesa Travlyn Sweetie.

Travis and Lynn Titlow started showing Paint horses over 30 years ago when they purchased their first Paint horse Sabrina Knox in 1981.  In 1987, they bought Travlyn In Style and have been in the business of breeding, raising and showing American Paint Horses ever since.

Involved at the local and State level since day one, they have both been American Paint Horse Association National Directors from California for over 20 years and Travis is the Immediate Past President of APHA.  They have two children, Marissa and Ross, who are both Civil Engineers.  Marissa married Eric Harned in 2008 and she is a newly elected APHA Director from Nevada.

While we never intended to own or stand a stallion, “Gunner” came into our lives as a yearling and completely hooked us into the Paint Horse breed.  We went to a ranch to look at a quarter horse stallion to breed to one of our Paint mares.  When the owner showed us a pasture of yearlings sired by the horse, our eyes were drawn to a gorgeous light buckskin colt with four stockings and a big blaze on a very dished face.  When we asked him about the colt he said he had a big white spot on his belly!  We made a deal to take the horse home and if we could get APHA papers on him we would buy him.  Not halterbroke, he was pushed into the trailer and hauled home.  Within a week, he was hanging his head over the stall door to be clipped and I told Travis he was staying no matter which papers he got!  He did get APHA papers (the spot is well over 12 inches!) and earned his APHA Championship as a three year old with me, an amateur, riding him.  He also earned his APHA Amateur Championship the next year and was #2 on the Honor Roll in Amateur Halter Stallions.  He had shed out that light coat into one of the most gorgeous buckskin colors you have ever seen.  Actually bred to work cows, that is pretty much the only thing we didn’t do with him.  His temperament is next to none and he produced babies with the same sweetness.  He is the kindest, nicest stallion – I have never in 25 years of owning him, seen him pin his ears or show anything but sweetness.  He is now retired from breeding, but still enjoys his job teasing the mares and acts like he’s 6 not 26!  We love him!

Bonnie was truly one of the great ones!  To this day she remains my very favorite horse I have ever owned.  We purchased her as a broodmare never intending to show her.  She already had ROM’s in Western Pleasure, Hunter Under Saddle and Trail.  Ironically she really wasn’t a great color producer, only producing 3 colored foals out of 9 babies.  However 2 of those foals were outstanding show horses.  Sizzlin

Summer was an APHA Champion, APHA Amateur Champion, superior halter mare (292 pts) and Reserve World Champion.  Travlyn Surprise was 9th at the World in Jr. Reining as a 3 yr old and 5th in Heading as a 5 yr old.  At some point, someone mentioned to me that Bonnie was trained to drive so I promptly hitched her up and off we went to the shows. I later learned that she had only been hitched up a couple of times and really wasn’t “trained” to drive.  She obviously was a very natural talent in harness and became the #1 Lifetime Leading Amateur Utility Driving Horse, a title she continues to hold to this day.  She also held the Lifetime Open Utility Driving #1 spot for 12 years before being bumped to the #2 position in 2008, 6 years after her death.  She was incredibly light and responsive, maneuvering obstacles with ease and grace.  She also had 45 pleasure driving points, but utility driving was her event.  After winning her World Championship, she was invited to compete at the California State Fair in the Obstacles Event competing against everything from draft horses to minis.  She blew them away, accumulating so many points they could hardly keep up with the count!  She also made a great ambassador for the Paint Horse breed attracting people with her two crystal blue eyes on a black horse. She was also a wonderful babysitter at the shows carrying Marissa and George Minic’s granddaughter, Molly, double and bareback all over the Bakersfield fairgrounds when they were just 7 yrs old!  There will never be another one like her.

A granddaughter of Two Eyed Jack, Jackie was an APHA Champion and a truly wonderful horse.  She taught our children how to ride and me how to drive!  When I decided to learn to drive, I sent Jackie to a driving trainer in our area to teach her first, then I could learn with her.  The trainer called less than a week later and said, “she’s ready, come on up to learn!”.  I showed her some in Paint shows and also took her to some Open Fair shows in the area.  I was very insulted at one show when I was asked if she was a pony!  While having a very halter type body, she did have very short legs (14.3 with shoes on)!  She still earned a few driving points.  Her produce record was pretty incredible though, producing 16 foals, 14 of which were colored, several with show records.  She was an incredibly sweet horse and a pleasure to be around.
